Danny first began as an East-Coaster, playing New York in its early Punk-Rock days at iconic venues like CBGBs. While performing there, Brian Eno discovered his band, which resulted in a Warner Brothers deal. He went on to become Lou Reed’s drummer for several years after playing on all the top shows including the Tonight Show, Letterman, MTV and Lou’s “Live on Letterman” album.

Frankel studied with Avante Garde master Paul Motian. Along with Lou Reed, Danny Frankel has performed and/or recorded with John Cale, Wilco’s Nels Cline, Robin Holcomb, Rikki Lee Jones, K.D. Lang, Laurie Anderson, Fiona Apple, Jewel, Everlast, Marianne Faithful and Beck. In the mid-90’ he worked with the Flying Karamazov Brothers theater troupe. He’s released 1 vinyl record entitled Jupiter Now and 3 CDs - New Thing On Jupiter, Vibration Of Sound and The Interplanetary Note Beat.

"I just drove around the hills above The Jet Propulsion Lab, the stomping grounds of Jack Parson's and his Rocket Explosion, listening to the album with an institutionalized Foster Pit Bull named Fifi.  The album seemed to calm her. The perfect length for a lost album from the early 1960s!"
